Series Scoring
- Runners scoring or winning awards in the Asics Dirt Dog Series must be current USATF members resident in San Diego or Imperial Counties.
- There is no entry fee for the series (of course, you still must pay to enter the individual races).
- Runners must complete at least three races in the Asics Dirt Dog Series plus the Championship to be eligible for awards.
- A runner's total score for the series will be the score for the Championship plus the three best scores in other series races.
- There are three divisions each for men and women: 39 & under, 40-49, 50 & over.
- A runner's division for the series is determined by his or her age on November 16, 2001. For example, a runner turning 40 on November 1, 2001 would compete as a 40-year-old for series scoring purposes for the entire series.
- Scoring for 39 & under and 40-49 will be on a 20-16-13-10-8-6-4-3-2-1 basis.
- Scoring for 50 & over will be on a 10-7-5-3-2-1 basis.
- The point value of the Championship is doubled.
- Highest scores win. Ties will be broken by higher placing in the Championship race.
- The winners of each of the six divisions in each race will earn Asics Dirt Dog Series Leader singlets. Recipients are encouraged to wear them at the next race.
