CARROLLTON, Georgia - (December 14, 2002) - Colby Peters won the Midget Boys (age 11-12) division of the 2002 USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships.
Peters, who runs for the Temecula Valley Time Machine, covered the 3 kilometer course in 11:06 to win by four seconds. Although Temecula is outside the San Diego Association boundaries, the club competes in the San Diego Association under a special arrangement with the Southern California Association.
The San Diego Roadrunners, who won five team titles at the Association Championships, and qualified six teams for the Nationals, took fourth place in both the Bantam Boys and Girls (ages 9-10) divisions.
