SAN DIEGO, Calif. - (January 17, 2004) - The San Diego Track and Field Officials Association is conducting a USATF Competition Officials certification workshop on Saturday January 17, 2004 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at San Diego Mesa College, Room L-501.
Directions: From North I-805 or North I-163 West on Mesa College Drive to Campus then left on Mesa College Circle. (Park on the street past the tennis courts.)
There is no charge for this workshop. Instruction will cover USATF Rules of Competition, the role of meet management, and duties and responsibilities of competition officials for specific track and field events. NCAA and High School rules will also be addressed. No prior experience is required for this workshop.
Completion of the workshop and an open book review of USATF Rules of Competition are basic requirements for USATF certification at the Association level.
The San Diego Track and Field Officials Association is currently recruiting new officials for volunteer assignments at all levels of competition officiating.
