UCSD, La Jolla, Calif. - (November 14, 2004) - Team Thor (Scott Sargeant and Thomas Meyer), reprising its successful throws meets of 2003 and 2004, has expanded to nine monthly meets for the 2004-2005 season.
The series begins on November 14 and continues through July 16. The meets are at UCSD La Jolla, begin at 10 a.m., and include five throws: hammer, weight, discus, shot, and javelin. In a change from last year, the meets will include the pole vault, with women starting at 10 a.m. and men starting at noon.
The meets are open to throwers and vaulters of all ages and abilities. Competitors in the 2003-4 series included two of the top high school throwers in the country, a female Olympic Trials competitor, a masters national champion, and a 68 meter (223 foot) discus throw that was second in the world for most of the year.
