President Ken Bernard called the meeting to order at 7:27 p.m. In addition to the President and Secretary, the attendees were Ed Oleata, Patty Oleata, Arnie Robinson, Joni Shirley, Bob Sieben, and Elizabeth Tate.
The Board approved the minutes of the meeting of October 15.
The President gave the Treasurer's report. The checking account balance was $8431.89 while the certificates of deposit were another $16,000.
Bernard presented a letter from Larry Eder, publisher of California Track & Running News, requesting that it be the official publication for this Association, joining the other California and Northern Nevada Associations. The members approved a motion by Oleata, as amended by G. Shirley, to authorize providing a mailing list of our Association if authorized at the National level.
Tate provided the sites of 1999 championships for youth (Decatur) and Junior Olympics (Omaha).
Bernard suggested that the Association awards should be earlier in the year, prior to the Hall of Champions awards if possible. The members agreed.
G. Shirley reviewed the amendments to the Rules of Competition.
E. Oleata addressed the idea of having the Masters Regional Track & Field Championships in San Diego. 1999 might be plausible.
The members approved a motion to increase Club fees from $45 to $60, retroactively, for 1998. The increase will support youth programs.
The President reappointed the current committee chairmen.
